REAL CARBON FIBER DASH KIT
Otto's 1999 FORD MUSTANG GT

I recently bought a real red/black dash kit from www.dashkit.com and here are some pics:

Since all the images on the right were taken using flash, here are some more, taken without flash:

I was gonna make a photo how-to, but it's really not necessary - all you have to do is clean the areas where the pieces go, apply primer on them and just put on the dash pieces. Each piece is self-adhesive and is about 1/8 inch thick. Someone asked for a closeup of the carbon fiber - here's two different angles. Let me say that it's next to impossible to get a really good picture of carbon fiber because its appearance varies with the viewing angle.

Overall, I am satisfied, the interior now has a little life without (I hope) being too ricey. The red/black combination really goes well with my car, which has rio red exterior paint and dark charcoal interior. Quality of the kit is good and it fits very well. I only have two complaints:

1) The cutout for the defrost switch is too large
2) Some edges are uneven and have little bumps - this is normal (consequence of the cutting) and can be fixed with a sharp knife.
